Gobi Rhapsody

In the Gobi Rhapsody duo, the morin-khuur (horse-headed fiddle), the khuumii (overtone singing) and the piano come together through a program that combines traditional Mongolian songs, arrangements and original compositions with classical and jazz influences .

Mandaakhai Daansuren is a versatile musician familiar with a traditional repertoire. Susanna Tiertant, classical pianist, turned to musical theater and world music. At the crossroads of their paths, Gobi Rhapsodie invents a journey between Paris and the Mongolian steppes.

Wishing to share his repertoire with as many people as possible and to promote Mongolian culture in France, Gobi Rhapsodie has just recorded his first CD and created a show for young audiences: La Légende de Tsolmon, co-produced by the Jeunesses Musicales de France.

Gobi Rhapsodie won the Jury Prize at the Tremplin ICART Sessions, the final of which was broadcast on France Musique on the show Ocora – Couleurs du Monde.
